The annual Household Clean-Up day will occur on Wednesday May 26th. Village residents who wish to have their large items collected should have them at the curb no later than 7:00am. Such items that will be collected at no charge to the resident include furniture, carpet, mattresses, non Freon appliances, push lawnmowers, bikes, and small electronics such as DVD players, CD player, microwave, radio, computer speakers, hard drive, etc. No televisions or computer monitors will be picked up at the curb. Televisions and monitors can be brought to the wastewater plant for proper disposal. If you place an item at the curb that has a reservoir for a liquid, please remove the liquid or we will not pick it up.
Please note that all items containing Freon (refrigerator, dehumidifier, freezer, air conditioner etc.), and tires will need a tag in order to be collected at the curb. Tags must be attached to the item and can be purchased at Village Hall or at the wastewater treatment plant for a fee.
We will pick up paneling and lumber in small amounts only (less than a pickup truck, below the rails). If you have paneling or other lumber please have the nails and screws removed or pounded over or these items will not get picked up. All broken glass should be contained and not loose. When possible, please put all metal items in a separate pile. We will pick up batteries free of charge. Please place them separate from the pile.
No hazardous or toxic substances such as fuel, paints or thinners will be picked up. These items should be taken to the Brown County Recycling Center. There will be regular curbside collection on Thursday May 27th. If you have any questions regarding the Household Clean-Up day please call DPW at 532-0434.
